Inner City Mission

Organization's Mission: The Mission of Inner-City Mission Network is to alleviate hunger and create economic opportunities for members of Chicago's Greater Grand Crossing and surrounding Communities. This program will also reduce crime by providing educational and resource opportunities for community residence. Our services will provide employment as well as new business consultation. Our services will also include food box programs, emergency warming shelters, and outreach programs for adults and youth.

Current Activity: Inner-City Missions currently distributes food to Chicago's Greater Grand Crossing Community and the surrounding communities every Thursday from 1-3pm and every fourth Wednesday from 3-6pm. We also have a working relationship with The Greater Food Depository which also allows us to volunteer in various Hunger Relief efforts.

The Ring of Hope

The Ring of Hope (ROH) is a community-based youth

mentorship and physical fitness initiative. The primary

purpose of the program is to teach youth the value of

self-discipline, physical fitness and proper nutrition.

The initiative will concentrate its efforts on fostering a

holistic approach to allow youth to channel their

aggressions in a positive manner. A sports training

program in boxing will provide an effective way to

channel aggressions while offering a mental and physical

challenge.

The fitness program will address the issues

surrounding self-discipline, and physical fitness.

Mentees will learn self discipline through a regimen of

intensive training; restorative justice, anger management

and social emotional learning. Mentees will also be

educated on the benefits of proper nutrition as well as

the downsides of alcohol and drug abuse. They will

understand the importance of teamwork, personal

development and accountability.
